I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Physiotherapy, Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation. My research focuses on exercise for older adults and people with lung disease, with a particular interest in measurement methods. I also teach on the Physiotherapy program at Umeå University at both undergraduate and advanced levels.
I earned my PhD in 2021 with a thesis that focused on measurement methods for muscle function in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and implication for resistance training. As a postdoctoral researcher, I am currently working with a project-group that uses high-intensity interval training for older adults. In addition, I serve as a representative for postdoctoral researchers on the department's research council.
The goal is for my research and teaching is to enable more people to effectively exercise according to their individual capabilities. Furthermore, exercise interventions should more extensively rely on, and be evaluated with, relevant, valid, reliable, and feasible methods.
